Day 1
On the day of arrival, transfer from the airport to the hotel.
Thessaloniki is the capital of Northern Greece and the second largest city in Greece,
a city that drifts in time from classical antiquity to the present day, preserving centuries of history to the present day through its architecture, gastronomy, local people and archaeological monuments. 15 UNESCO heritage sites in the city, which you will have the opportunity to discover through this city break.
Salonicco City Tour
The tour begins by going towards the upper city, the so-called “Ano Poli” to observe the imposing Byzantine walls which were once about 4 km long and 10-12 meters high and which surrounded and protected the city and its inhabitants from invaders. We continue by visiting the traditional early Christian church of San Demetrio, the patron saint of the city and its catacombs. Heading into the heart of the city centre, the Roman period admiring the beautiful Rotunda Monument and the famous Arch of Galerius. The tour will finish by arriving at the seaside with the city's landmark, the White Tower and the statue of Alexander, the Great King of Macedonia.
