Athens and the New Acropolis Museum - Half Day

From March 4 to November 5 - Every Saturday and Sunday afternoon

This 3-hour tour will allow you to appreciate the charm of Athens while capturing the stark contrasts that define it. Your guide will accompany visitors on an engaging tour of the city center, including Constitution Square (Syntagma), the Parliament, the Monument to the Unknown Soldier, and the National Library. The tour continues along Herodes Atticus Street, where you can observe the Evzones, before reaching the Presidential Palace. Along the way to the Acropolis, you'll admire Hadrian's Arch, the Temple of Jupiter, and a brief stop at the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games (1896) were held. The tour will continue with a visit to the New Acropolis Museum, which houses the finds from the archaeological site of the Acropolis of Athens. The museum was built to house every object found on the sacred rock of the Acropolis and everything recovered from its foothills. The finds span a broad historical period, from the Mycenaean period to Roman and Early Christian Athens. It is located within the archaeological site of Makrigianni, where remains from the Roman and Byzantine periods are found. The first level of the museum features artifacts from the slopes of the Acropolis. On the second level, a large trapezoidal hall displays objects from the Mycenaean to the early classical period of the Acropolis. On the museum's highest level is the Parthenon Hall, which displays all the sculptures from the monument preserved in Athens. At the end of the visit, return to the hotel.
