You will be accompanied by Paola, our local expert. Meet your guide in Syntagma Square to witness the changing of the guard at the Parliament, the Euzones. We'll stroll through the Zappeion to the Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmo), where we'll stop for a photo. We'll then walk up Irodou Attiko with the Presidential Palace to reach the Avenue of Embassies, arriving at the Kolonaki Crossing,our first beauty stop: the Apivita Experience Store.
1. APIVITA EXPERIENCE STORE
In the heart of the elegant Kolonaki neighborhood is the Apivita Experience Store, four floors with a hair salon, spa, juice bar, reading room, and a shop on the ground floor, where products are displayed around a magnificent olive tree, symbol of Athena, the city's patron saint. Apivita was founded here in 1979 from the experience of two pharmacists committed to sustainable development and the creation of beauty care products based on honey, royal jelly, and beeswax. The name derives from Latin, meaning "the life of the bee," and the logo is inspired by a gold jewel, a unique piece of Minoan art dating back to around 1700 BC. The "Mallia Bees" depicts two bees with a drop of honey, surrounded by Apollo's lyre, symbolizing harmony, fertility, and sustainability.
We descend together to Panepostimiou to admire the Classical Trilogy and reach the parallel Stadiu with the ancient Parliament on Kolokotroni Square. Here we are at our second beauty stop: Naxos Apothecary.
2. NAXOS APOTHECARY ATHENS
Naxos Apothecary is located in the square of the ancient Parliament in Athens. It offers personal care products, natural cosmetics from the renowned Korres line, delicate fragrances, and perfumes with evocative names inspired by the Aegean Sea and the villages of Naxos.
The brand began as a pharmacy, which is why the store features a space dedicated to the creation of infusions, syrups, and lotions, using original stills and machinery. These natural products are a symbol of passion for the history, culture, flora, and biodiversity of the Cycladic island of Naxos. Combined with the founding pharmacists' expertise in phytotherapy and homeopathy, they offer a vast assortment of personal care products based on Mediterranean herbs, plants, aromas, and perfumes.
We then arrive on Ermou, Athens' main shopping street,for the ultimate beauty stop: Freshline. Here you'll find the Freshline store, which has been offering natural cosmetics for over 30 years.
3. FRESHLINE
Freshline opened its first small store in Athens in 1992. From grandmother to granddaughter, the members of the Vagioni family, originally from Zakynthos with Italian roots, began their journey in their home kitchens, where they prepared ointments, creams, and beauty masks using natural ingredients such as extra virgin olive oil, honey, yogurt, chamomile, and more. Passion, professionalism, and continuous research have led to the creation of a quality brand, known and appreciated in Greece and abroad through a network of 250 stores. With its beauty care lines featuring eye-catching colors and names, formulas with therapeutic properties based on herbs, essential oils, and natural butters, Freshline was a pioneer in Greece in selling products by weight.
