The verdant island of Poros, with its unsurpassed natural beauty and thousands of pine trees rising from the steep, sandy beaches, makes the island romantic and tranquil.
Historic Aegina, named after the beautiful nymph who was abducted by Zeus, is world-famous for its delicious pistachios, beautiful beaches, the Temple of Aphea, and the Monastery of Saint Nektarios.
Our guests can also book transportation, breakfast on board, and island excursions at additional costs. Our company organizes shore excursions to Hydra and Aegina at additional costs. Shore excursions include a walking tour of Hydra, a swim escape to Agistri Island by traditional boat from Aegina, and a bus tour of the ancient Temple of Aphaea and the Greek Orthodox Monastery of Saint Nektarios in Aegina.

Cosmopolitan islands with their own traditions
You'll discover the rich history of the Saronic Islands by exploring the local heritage.
On Hydra, admire the island's unique architectural beauty. There are no cars on the island, and donkeys remain the traditional means of transportation. Stone windmills, 350 churches, the homes of wealthy shipowners, and the island's naval history are all a source of inspiration.
Poros is a beautifully green island characterized by expanses of lemon groves and sandy beaches lined with pine forests. The town's archaeological museum, which houses exhibits from the Mycenaean to the Roman era, sheds light on the island's long history. A distinctive feature is the famous clock tower, built at the highest point on the island. Aegina is known not only for its famous antiquity, the 2,500-year-old Temple of Aphaea, but also for its delicious pistachios. The Temple of Aphaea, located on a pine-covered hill, is the jewel in the crown of the island's precious antiquities. Built in the 6th century BC, it is one of the best-preserved Doric temples in Greece. The Church of Agios Nektarios is culturally inspiring, a beautiful example of the island's religious heritage.

Schedule
HYDRA
Welcome aboard the Athens Day Cruise from Athens, where our live orchestra sets the stage for the festivities.
You'll depart Athens under the morning sun and enjoy a delicious breakfast, optional if you wish, from our menu. As you sail the legendary waters of the historic Saronic Gulf, our first island destination is Hydra.
Upon arrival, you'll be amazed by the port city's extraordinary architecture and have plenty of time to discover the island's many beauties on one of our tours. A leisurely stroll through the narrow streets is a must.

POROS
Depart from Hydra and sail to Poros, a tranquil and beautifully green island, known for its pleasant beaches and the fragrant aroma of lemons carried by a gentle wind from its numerous groves. The boat will remain in Poros for about an hour, leaving you plenty of time to admire the graphic setting of the island's Chora.
Poros is simply delightful. Beautifully green and covered with thousands of pine trees, Poros is known for its famous "Lemon Forest," unique in Greece. Walking or cycling among the lemon groves is a sensory journey, with a surprise waterfall in the lush citrus grove. Poros is called the "Venice of the Saronic Gulf" due to its geographical location, separated from the Peloponnese by a narrow waterway. Highlights of Poros include the island's famous Clock Tower, at the highest point of the town, with spectacular views; the Chapel of Panagitsa, a small white and blue chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary, located at the end of Askeli beach; the Hatzopoulios Municipal Library, housed in a neoclassical building in the town of Poros; and the Archaeological Museum, with artifacts from the great Mycenaean civilization, primarily ceramics and Roman-era statuettes.

AEGINA
Take a cruise to Aegina and discover the island's vibrant cultural heritage, including an optional short boat ride for swimming. You'll have approximately two hours to discover the island's beauty on your own or with one of our guided tours. Return to Athens in the early evening and enjoy a stunning view of the Attica sunset from our Sun Deck, followed by a live Greek folk dance performance that will accompany you for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours until you reach the port of Aegina.

Aegina is the largest of the Saronic Islands with a glorious history dating back to antiquity. Today, Aegina is a popular seaside getaway known for its golden beaches, spectacular countryside, and fishing villages where authentic tavernas specialize in a wide array of fresh grilled fish and local wines. The island is also internationally acclaimed as the home of the famous Aegina pistachio. Just a short distance from Athens, Aegina is the favorite Saronic summer residence for cosmopolitan Athenians. According to myth, Aegina is named after the beautiful nymph abducted by Zeus. One of Aegina's fascinating highlights is the Temple of Aphaia, perched on a pine-covered hill.
GREEK CUISINE
On board Platinum Cruises' day cruise from Athens, you'll savor the authentic taste of Greek cuisine with a complimentary buffet lunch. The Aegean diet is internationally acclaimed for its health benefits and fabulous cuisine based on vegetables, seafood, meat, dairy products, and local herbs. An à la carte menu is also available.

Each island has its own unique culinary tradition, based on local produce and culinary art. Throughout the Saronic Islands, you'll find fresh fish cooked in a variety of ways—fried, baked in a delicious array of sauces—meat and vegetable specialties, glorious Greek salads, and delicious shrimp cooked in tomato sauce with feta cheese.

If you're in the mood for a taste of island cuisine, there's always a table for Greek mezes, a tempting array of Greek-style appetizers accompanied by a glass of ouzo. The Saronic Islands are renowned for their special almond biscuits, not to be missed. And, of course, Aegina, with its world-famous pistachios, surprises even the most cosmopolitan foodie with a variety of unique pistachio temptations.
