DESCRIPTION
Self-drive excursion to discover the most secret and hidden corners of the island of Zakynthos!
Appointment with our guide in the village of Exo Hora where this fascinating tour will begin, a mix of culture, nature, tastings and special visits!
We start with the majestic 2000 year old olive tree and then see the mysterious valley of the wells and finally a tasting of typical local products.
Each with their own cars, the guide will take you to see the weaving of carpets with a wooden loom and in the same town a typical and characteristic minimarket (emporium) where you can really find everything to survive in these forgotten villages!
Along the winding road that descends from Kilomeno, we will see the female convent Elefterotria and not far away we will stop for a visit to the church of St. Mavra and Timotheos with its fascinating history and the small adjacent museum.
We continue to Gyri/Locha, a traditional mountain village founded by Cretan refugees in 1,500 AD with a walk through its alleys.
Followed by a visit to the natural organic cosmetics laboratory and finally an aperitif at the remote Venetian Tower with a spectacular sunset, one of the best in all Mediterranean sea!
At this point the excursion is over but for those who wish and have communicated it to our guide in advance, we will go to dinner in a traditional farm on the hill, overlooking the sea (cost around €20 per person) for a menu typical and abundant,
water and wine included!
Finally, returning through the Cypress Valley, in absolute darkness, we will stop for a few minutes
to enjoy the spectacle of the Milky Way!
