An exciting walk in the Valley of the water mills of Miloi, the church of Ag. Triada with the springs that feed the city of Karystos, the paths that from the Roman aqueduct take us to the top of Castellorosso with the small church dedicated to the prophet Elias where we will have an unforgettable view of the bay and the city of Karystos. A few steps from the beaches, you will discover a still uncontaminated environment, hills covered with olive trees, farms and old abandoned houses, flocks of goats or sheep and if we are lucky we will also spot the eagles that "inhabit" these valleys on the slopes of Mount Ochi. Finally we descend towards Miloi where our walk will end.
Walk 6 km – h. 02:00 – 200 mt. of altitude difference (between 100 and 350 meters above sea level) | Route difficulty: easy
Attention
The excursion starts at 17:30 in the village of Miloi which can be reached by private means (approx. 3km from Karystos). Upon request, it is possible to organize transportation with a supplement of €10 per person.
The fee includes: Guide and 0.5 lt bottle of water.
From the meeting point we move on foot and we recommend:
Trekking or sports shoes, backpack, appropriate clothing (layers),
water bottle, hat or bandana, sunscreen
Note: For those who wish, it is possible to book the Greek dinner on the same evening at a typical traditional tavern in the small village of Miloi where our walk will end, a moment of joy with excellent food, traditional songs and dances.
