Kastoria is a charming city located in northwest Greece, in the region of Western Macedonia, and is famous for its picturesque landscape, rich history and cultural heritage. The city is located on the shore of Lake Orestiada, surrounded by mountains, creating an enchanting natural environment. The lake is a central feature of the city, offering opportunities for walking, boat trips and wildlife watching. Kastoria is known for its rich historical, architectural and cultural heritage, with numerous Byzantine churches, monasteries and Ottoman-style houses. The narrow streets of the old town, with stone buildings and old houses with wooden balconies, offer an atmosphere typical of the past. Among the main points of interest are the church of St. Mark, the monastery of Panagia Mavriotissa and the Byzantine Museum. Kastoria is also known for its tradition of fur processing, which has roots dating back to antiquity. Today the city is an important center for the production of fur and leather goods, which represent one of the main local economic activities.
