Western Macedonia is a region in northwest Greece, characterized by mountainous landscapes, rivers, lakes and unspoiled nature. It borders Albania to the north, Central Macedonia to the east, Thessaly to the south and the Greek region of Epirus to the west. The capital of the region is the city of Kastoria, famous for its lakes and fur tradition.
The region is rich in history, with numerous archaeological sites, such as the ruins of the ancient city of Aiani and Grebne, a cultural heritage dating back to Roman and Byzantine times. Here you will find traditional mountain villages, typical cuisine and natural beauty such as the Vikos-Aoos National Park, one of the deepest gorges in Europe.
