Igoumenitsa – Metsovo - Kastoria - Edessa - Salonicco - Stavros - Alexandropouli - Soufli - Kotini - Xanti - Kavala - Leptokarya - Monte Olimpo - Serpentine road - Kalambaka - Meteora - Ioannina - Igoumenitsa

Departure by ship from the port of Ancona according to the confirmed schedule, night navigation and travel by ship to the chosen accommodation; arrival in Greece in the morning of the next day.

Arrival at the port of Igoumenitsa, a picturesque port city with its crystal clear waters and golden beaches where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Ionian Sea and then set off on an adventure to Metsovo, a charming mountain village nestled in the woods of Epirus, known for its traditional architecture and delicious local cheeses, Metsovo offers an unforgettable experience.
Stop for lunch (optional) in one of the many original taverns.
Today's tour then continues to Kastoria, a charming city located on the shores of Lake Orestiada, famous for its furs and beautiful landscapes, Kastoria is the ideal place to explore the history and culture of the region.

Igoumenitsa - Metsovo - Kastoria km.240 (h.3:00)

From Kastoria along beautiful lakes, crossing mountains and streams, we reach Edessa, known as the "city of waters" for its spectacular waterfalls. Stroll through its green parks and discover the ancient history of this enchanting city, a true hidden gem of Greece. Lunch break (optional) and then continue to Thessaloniki, the vibrant cultural capital of Northern Greece. With its mix of ancient history and modern life, Thessaloniki offers a rich cultural experience, with museums, restaurants and a vibrant nightlife.

Kastoria - Edessa - Thessaloniki km.200 (h.3:30)

After breakfast we depart from Thessaloniki, the lively capital of Macedonia and reach Stavros, the birthplace of the great philosopher Aristotle. where it will be possible to visit the Museum (optional) to learn about his life and works.
The town also offers a peaceful atmosphere and unique views of the Aegean Sea.
A lunch stop (optional) and we continue through the regions of Macedonia and Thrace, to conclude our stop in Alexandroupoli, a coastal city that in its history has passed under various dominations including the Bulgarian, Ottoman and Russian before returning to be part of modern Greece. Charming with a relaxed atmosphere, famous for its iconic lighthouse and sandy beaches, Alexandroupoli is the perfect place to end the day on a note of serenity and natural beauty. Check-in at the hotel, dinner (not included) and overnight stay.

Thessaloniki - Stavros - Alexandropouli km.300 (h.3:30)

After breakfast, a relaxing ride awaits us to reach Soufli (70km approx.). We are on the Silk Road, and Soufli is known as the "city of silk". Silk production began with the planting of large mulberry trees in the lands surrounding the Evros river, necessary for feeding silkworms. By the end of the 19th century, almost all the inhabitants of Soufli were involved in silk production, exporting to European cities such as Lyon, Bordeaux and Milan. Today, Soufli is the only settlement in Europe that preserves and supports activities related to the economy of silk production. Interesting is a visit to the Silk Museum with all the stages of the production and processing process and the Museum of Silk Art, housed in a neoclassical house, offers insights into the history and production of silk in the region. Lunch (optional) in one of the traditional taverns of the village and then we return to Alexandropouli along the Evros River which with its suggestive landscapes and wildlife, marks the natural border between Greece and Turkey, a stage rich in culture and charm.
Return to the hotel, time to relax, dinner (not included) and overnight stay.

Alexandropouli - Soufli - Alexandropouli km.140 (h.2:00)

After breakfast we depart towards Komotini a city with a rich multicultural heritage, where Greek, Ottoman and Muslim influences coexist. Walking through the old town, you can visit the Yeni Mosque, a symbol of Ottoman domination, and the Folklore Museum, which tells the traditions of the region. We continue to Xanti, the city of a thousand shades! Known as the "Queen of Thrace", it is famous for its picturesque old town, characterized by neoclassical houses, cobbled streets and artisan shops. Every corner tells stories of past eras, including the Ottoman era and the importance of the city as a center of tobacco trade in the 19th century. An unmissable experience is the lively city market, full of scents and colors. Lunch stop (optional) and then we reach Kavala a beautiful coastal city with a fascinating history. Founded by the colonists of Thassos in ancient times, Kavala flourished in Roman and Byzantine times, and became an important trading port during the Ottoman rule. Among the main attractions are the impressive Ottoman aqueduct (Kamares), the medieval castle overlooking the port and the birthplace of Mehmet Ali, founder of modern Egypt. The city also offers beautiful beaches and a unique atmosphere on the waterfront. Dinner (not included) and overnight stay

Alexandropouli - Komotini - Xanti - Kavala km. 190 (h.2:30)

After breakfast, departure towards Serres, a city with ancient roots and a modern charm. Serres is known for its long history, dating back to the Macedonian era, and was an important cultural and commercial center during the Byzantine and Ottoman domination. Among the main attractions, the ruins of the ancient theater, the Byzantine Monastery of Timios Prodromos and the large Park of Agioi Anargyroi. The entire area is among the most renowned for viticulture in Greece, thanks to the climate and the richness of the soil, quality wines are produced from native Greek vines such as Xinomavro, Assyrtiko and Malagousia, as well as international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Lunch stop (optional) and then we get back on the road, skirting the large city of Thessaloniki to reach Katerini, located between Mount Olympus and the Thermaic Gulf. The city is a great starting point to visit Mount Olympus, the mythological home of the gods, but also the archaeological site of Dion, one of the sacred places of ancient Macedonia, a center of worship during the reign of Philip II and Alexander the Great. Walking through Katerini, you can enjoy the cozy atmosphere and taste the traditional local flavors. Check-in at the hotel, dinner (not included) and overnight stay.

Kavala - Serres - Katerini Km.240 (h.3:00)

After breakfast, departure for Kalambaka/Mweteora!
The road initially runs along the Aegean Sea, runs at the foot of Mount Olympus, the highest peak in Greece (3,000m), the sacred mountain of the Gods, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1981. Once in Leptokarya, here is the most iconic road of our tour, the panoramic and challenging Serpentine Road 1100m of altitude difference, 11 km with 38 hairpin bends to get to Karya, on the southern slopes of Mount Olympus! Lunch (optional but recommended!) in the small mountain village and then descend towards Elassona and finally reach Kalambaka where the Meteors are located, a truly unique place in the world! Meteora is a term that comes from the Greek, meaning "suspended in the air", spectacular rock formations, high and isolated, that emerge from the surrounding plains and seem suspended between heaven and earth, are famous for their monasteries built on these extraordinary rocks since the 14th century. The monks chose these hard-to-reach places to find spiritual isolation and protect themselves from invaders and political turbulence. Since 1988, Meteora and its monasteries have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage. If the weather permits, we could do a spectacular Phototour at sunset, finally check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay

Katerini - Mount Olympus - Karya - Kalambaka/Meteors km.190 (h.3:00)

After breakfast we could plan a visit to one of the 6 monasteries that can currently be visited, after which we will get back on the road to Ioannina, the fascinating and mystical capital of Epirus lapped by the calm waters of Lake Pamvotis. From the old city to the castle, from the bazaars to the monasteries, everything here speaks of history. Inside the Kastro with its mighty Byzantine walls built on a suggestive promontory, you can visit the Archaeological Museum and the Civic Museum, which houses a rich exhibition of traditional local costumes. The Ali Pasha Mosque, the Matei Hussein House are some symbols of the multicultural power of the city, which has undergone Christian, Islamic and Jewish influences. Also unique is the silver museum, a tradition that dates back to Roman times thanks to the mines in the area. And finally the island Nisì, the last home of the Ottoman governor Ali Pasha, who was killed here by the sultan's troops. On the island, in addition to 500 permanent inhabitants, there are also various Byzantine churches from the 13th century with valuable original paintings. Stop for lunch (optional) and according to the return ferry schedule, we head to Igoumenitsa where our fascinating tour to discover lesser-known Greece will end!

After the port check-in procedures, boarding the ship is scheduled, according to the chosen accommodation, with arrival in Italy in the morning of the following day.

- The daily program and the sequence of visits may be subject to change due to logistical or organizational reasons, weather conditions or provisions of local authorities. However, our organization will always do everything possible to ensure that the integrity of the program is respected.

- In our motorcycle tours, lunches/dinners are not included to leave travelers free to not feel tied to fixed-price menus and above all because when traveling sometimes you prefer to stay light. In any case, our expert Tour leader will make lunch stops along the way and will indicate suggested taverns also for dinners in the vicinity of the accommodations; these are "right" taverns, the most hidden and traditional ones with an excellent quality/price ratio!
