Edessa, known as the "city of waters", is a picturesque town in northern Greece, in the region of Central Macedonia. Famous for its spectacular waterfalls, the most famous being the **Karanos waterfalls**, a natural attraction that offers breathtaking views. The city has a long history dating back to antiquity, having been an important center during the Macedonian and Roman periods. Its name means "water tower", a reference to its water wealth. In addition to nature, Edessa is home to a charming old town, with cobbled streets, traditional houses and the Varosi district, known for its Ottoman architecture. It is also home to several museums, including the Archaeological Museum, which tells its thousand-year history. Surrounded by green landscapes and mountains, it is an ideal destination for nature and culture lovers.
