Common description
Patmos is the most Cycladic of the Dodecanese islands. The architecture of its Chora is, in fact, a succession of white and blue spots, difficult to find in the other islands of this area of Greece. Chora is the capital, the historic center of the island and one of the most beautiful views to observe in all the Greek islands. Here, imposingly, on the top of the town's hill, stands the Monastery of S.Giovanni. Outside there are powerful walls that make it resemble a real inviolable fortress, inside a set of buildings on several levels that make it an impossible place not to visit during a stay in Patmos. To enter the monastery, appropriate clothing is required. Often ladies in tank tops and shorts are given a towel to cover themselves.
